Grade 8 science students are studying mixtures: how they are created, classified, and separated. Here students separated iron filings, sand and salt using the physical means of magnetism, filtration, and evaporation.

William S. Cohen is hosting a Laptop Take-Home Informational Meeting on
Tuesday, February 7th at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is for Grade 6 parents from William S. Cohen and James F. Doughty schools. A second meeting for parents will take place on Tuesday, February 28th at James F. Doughty School at 6:00 p.m.
Students at both schools brought home a packet of information regarding the Laptop Take-Home Program. Please review the information and call Cohen or Doughty with any questions.

Congratulations to the A Cheerleaders at Cohen for winning first-place at the James F. Doughty School Invitational on Saturday, February 4th! The competition took place at Bangor High School and included 13 middle school teams from the area.
Congratulations to the B Cheerleaders at Cohen for winning the James F. Doughty School Invitational Cheering Competition! The competition took place at James F. Doughty School on Friday, February 3rd.

The Cohen A Boys and Girls Basketball Teams qualified for the Eastern Maine Middle School League playoff Thursday afternoon. The schedule is listed below:

Congratulations to the Cohen A Cheerleaders for earning second place at the Bucksport Invitational Tournament! The A Cheerleaders will complete again on Saturday, February 4th at Bangor High School
The Math Counts team at William S. Cohen earned 2nd place at Saturday’s competition behind Conners Emerson School (Bar Harbor). During the final round, the top ten students from the day’s events met in the Countdown Round. Three students from Cohen qualified for that round – the most from any school in the competition. The team qualified for the state Math Counts competition.
