The Cohen Boosters Club supports the overall educational experience for students at William S. Cohen. Please contact Assistant Principal / Athletic Director Zach Ellis if you would like to participate. Meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM in the WSCS Library. The Cohen Boosters organization is always looking for help with concessions and fundraising. If you would like to volunteer to help with concessions, you can do so here. Ongoing projects include box-top collection (WSCS front office is always accepting box-top donations), planning for Crosstown Hoops, 8th grade send-off, and other exciting annual events. Cohen Boosters help support a number of clubs, activities, and sporting events throughout the school year.
SHOUT OUT TO WILLIAM S. COHEN 8TH GRADE PARENTS
It’s time to start planning the 8th Grade Send Off and we need your help. This special event for 8th grade students occurs on the last day of school and includes a luncheon, the showing of a slide show featuring photos of each child set to music, and a dance. There are several ways to help with this great celebration!
Although this event is free for our 8th graders, the funds for the program are raised by the Cohen Boosters/8th Grade Send Off Committee. For anyone who is able to make a donation to offset the cost of the meal and small gift, cash donations of $5 up to $20 will be greatly appreciated. Checks may be made payable to William S. Cohen Boosters Club and sent to the school in an envelope marked for 8th Grade Send Off. They can also be mailed to WSCS, 305 Garland Street, Bangor, ME 04401. We also ask local businesses for donations. Any suggestions are welcome.
Another way to help is with the timely submission of 3 photos of your 8th grader to be included in the slide show. Photos may be of your child alone or with family and/or friends, or participating in an activity they enjoy. These can be current and/or blast from the past. Photos may be e-mailed to email@example.com. Files of at least 400KB and less than 2MB are best. If you are unable to email photos, they can me submitted to the Cohen office. In order to complete this very special project on time, we would appreciate having the photos submitted before April 2nd.
Finally, we need many hands on deck to help plan this event. Our next Send Off meeting will be Monday, March 5th at 7:00 in the Cohen library. We have subcommittees for decorating, fundraising, and food which need to be filled. The more the merrier, so come out and be part of planning a great afternoon for our kids. While this wonderful event is only for the students, we will also need several parents available the day of the Send Off to decorate, pick up and set up food, and clean up.
Whether or not you are able to attend the meetings, we would like to keep everyone informed of our activities.
