Six 7th grade students entered the NASA Future Engineers TechRise Challenge back in October. The team was just announced as one of 60 national winners and the only students from Maine. The team was selected based on their project proposal. The challenge was to “design an experiment to test on a high altitude balloon.” The team had an amazing entry submission that will test for different pollutants at different elevations above major cities.
Now that the team has been selected, they will be working virtually with engineers to build the sensors to be lifted by a high altitude balloon this summer.
The William S. Cohen School is very proud of student team for their willingness to work together and be part of this challenge!
Congratulations to Ben Beaulieu, Henry Bennett, Reed Marasco, Obi Okafor, Leo Tang, Lyell Walker, and Mrs. Pietrak!
