Winter Sports will be starting up in just a few weeks! There will be a winter sports student informational meeting after school on Monday, 10/26. Cheer tryouts will start on November 2nd. Basketball tryouts will start on November 9th.

Information for completing the Sway Impact testing, which athletes must complete each school year, and information for submitting a physical are attached to this message. The physical is good for all three years at Cohen, so if you have already submitted one, you do not have to do it again. Also, I wanted to take this opportunity to remind your athletes that they must pass their first quarter classes in order to be eligible to participate in a winter sport.

This year the club is meeting for four sessions on Tuesday afternoons. Students in the Rocket Club learn the basics of model rocketry, prepare their rockets for flights and enjoy going outside to watch their rockets fly to the sky! Proof of Educational Technician III authorization or teacher certification and CHRC approval through the Department of Education is required for this position. Tutors are employed as temporary part-time employees with the district. Assignments are flexible and may be during or after the school day. Tutors are needed in the areas of Multilingual Learners, special education, science, and mathematics. Tutoring services occur within a variety of settings including the regular education setting, special education setting, in a student’s home, or in a public setting such as the library.
